Ecmera Therapeutics is founded
Ecmera Therapeutics was founded in July 2026 by Professor Melinda Duer, Dr Uliana Bashtanova and Mun-Leong Chan, and is based at St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge.
The company translates two decades of extracellular matrix research from Professor Duer's University of Cambridge laboratory into a new therapeutic layer for solid tumours: one that treats the tissue a tumour lives in, alongside the treatments already given, starting with glioblastoma.
